Week 4: Assignment # 1


Working with UBD helped me map out the desired results I wanted from the lessons by making me consider what I ultimately wanted the students to come out with from these lessons. I first considered what knowledge and skills the students should ultimately gain from the lesson. I specifically thought about the knowledge and skills that would be able to transfer to other areas, both in academics and in life. Knowledge and skills that are important to have and to remember for continued success not just in school, but also in life, long after one graduates. After determining what those knowledge and skills were, I was able to focus on what the students would need to understand in order to get them there, and what are the essential questions that would stimulate their thinking and help them zero in on the purpose of this lesson.
